When we see something wrong, we need to remember Philippians 4:8. "Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy- think about such things."
And the paragraph continues: "Whatever you have learned or received or heard from Me, or seen in Me- put into practice. AND THE GOD OF PEACE WILL BE WITH YOU"!!!
OK, so I saw something wrong. I detailed what I saw wrong with "The Secret" in the last post. But NOW, I must focus on what is excellent. So I've considered: What redeeming qualities might be found in this latest fad? Fact is, "The Secret" may be a good primer to get people to yearn for more truth and peace, which just may lead them to seek God. We may read a self-help book and imagine that some worldly things, or some conditions, might bring us peace, but when it's discovered that it's not an eternal peace, perhaps more searching will ensue.
If one applies some of "The Secret" concepts in a quest for God, one can indeed find "a peace that surpasses all understanding." Because in focusing on God, the Creator of all things, we are tapping in to the most powerful force in existence. I'd rather leave my life in the hands of the Maker, who knows what's best for me.
"The Secret" just needs to go a few steps further...
